Weekday mornings with the whole family will be more exciting as GMA Network brings to light a romantic-comedy series that both parents and kids can enjoy with the launch of Ang Forever Ko’y Ikaw.

Slated to premiere on March 12, this program is headlined by Camille Prats-Yambao and Neil Ryan Sese together with Ayra Mariano and Bruno Gabriel.

Ang Forever Ko’y Ikaw revolves around the lives of Ginny played by Camille and Lance portrayed by Neil: two single parents who are still both attached to their past but are hoping to somehow get a new chance at love. Their lives are almost intertwined since they live in the same condo; have the same taste in coffee; and they even follow each other's 'alter-ego' accounts online.

Camille said she loves how the show instils its message to the viewers when it comes to love.

“You know I think the really good part about this show is yung message nila tungkol sa love and how it will tell us that love finds you. And that you don’t really have to find it. Kasi darating ‘yan sa’yo at the right time and right place,” the Kapuso actress said.

On the other hand, Neil shared that he is still adjusting to his new role as Lance as he was used to portraying character roles in his previous shows.

“Nakakapanibago. Challenge siya for me kasi sobrang iba talaga yung role ko rito. Unlike kapag kontrabida ka iba yung pag deliver mo ng lines. Dapat palaging mabigat. Dito, I need to tone it down talaga,” he said.

But what if the two would never meet? Would they still be able to find their way back to love?

The story also highlights their journey as single parents including the challenges and accomplishments they encounter as they take care of their children Marione portrayed by Ayra and Benjie played by Bruno.

Ayra plays the daughter of Ginny. The Kapuso actress said she’s grateful to GMA for entrusting her this project and is equally happy to be working again with Bruno.

“I am very thankful sa Network na binigyan kami ng chance na ipakita ‘yung kakayahan namin. At the same time, excited ako kasi magkatrabaho na naman kami ni Bruno. Very comfortable na kami sa isa’t isa kaya I know this project is going to be amazing,” she said.

Meanwhile, Bruno is Lance’s only son in the series who supports his dad’s ordeals. Bruno said he is looking forward to be working with Camille and Neil because he knows he is going to learn a lot from them.

“Napapanood ko na kasi sila before and I am really amazed at how they both are great in acting—mapa-intense man yung eksena or light lang. Kaya ako, excited ako to work with them kasi we are going to learn new things talaga,” the Kapuso heartthrob said.

What if, along the way, Benjie and Marione would soon develop feelings for each other? Can this be a start of something new?

With this, whose love story will push through? Will it be Lance and Ginny? Or will it be Marione and Benjie? Or will it be both?

Joining them in this series are Cai Cortez as Doc Issa, Ginny’s best friend; Archie Alemania as Maoy, Lance’s naughty friend; 34th PMPC Star Awards Movie Supporting Actress of the Year Ms. Odette Khan as Taneneng, Ginny’s mother-in-law; Jude Paolo Diangson as Gino, Ginny’s youngest child.

This newest Kapuso series is under the helm of Creative Director Caesar Cosme with Joseph Balboa as the Headwriter, directed by Tata Betita and Jojo Nones.

First dates can turn painfully awkward if you don’t come prepared. Whether it’s how you’ll dress for the meet-up or how you plan to break the ice after the greetings, first impressions can determine your chances of going out together for a second time. So rather than just showing up with only sweaty palms and frazzled nerves, here are a few tips to help you maintain the interest of a date you happen to like.

Dating Dos:

Keep it light. General topics like hobbies, weekend activities, or travel plans can help you get a conversation going. It’s not bad to ask about what your date does for a living, but take caution since most people find their work very stressful. Also, steer clear of heavy topics like politics and religion, which can elicit strong emotions. The key here is to keep the atmosphere cheery.

Comfort over style. Going for something stylish is okay, but it’s best to dress for comfort so you don’t keep on fidgeting or feel self-conscious the entire time. To be safe, choose a basic look, like a button-up shirt for men or a simple blouse for women. After all, it’s better to show more personality on the second or third date once you both become more comfortable with each other. Also, make sure your clothes are clean and freshly pressed, not like it was pulled out of the hamper. For the ladies, skip the heels for flats so you won’t have difficulty taking a stroll with your date.

Cleanliness is godliness. Good grooming reflects your sense of hygiene. Take a thorough shower, clip your nails, and brush your teeth before meeting your date. Body odor is an instant turn-off so deodorant is a must, but choose scentless or lightly scented so you can apply fragrance for added sex appeal. Scents are powerful memory triggers, and you’ll want your date to remember the evening if it goes well. Finally, dress your crowning glory to keep flyaway hair under control. As for men who insist on facial hair, trim the scruff for a neat, even look. Don’t forget to pack mints in case you kiss.

Dating Don’ts:

Over-sharing. Honesty is much appreciated, but there are some things about you that a total stranger may not be ready to hear. These include past relationships, financial troubles, or personal details about family. Remember, first dates are meant to be casual and fun, not for you to unload excess baggage. Save the more intimate facts for later dates after you’ve developed trust with the other person.

One-upping. No one wants to feel inferior. It may be true that you stayed at a fancier hotel or went to a more expensive shopping spree last vacation than your date, but saying so would only imply that the other person isn’t doing enough. Instead, simply show appreciation by asking more about your date’s experiences or preferences.

Me, me, me: Hogging the conversation only makes you look self-centered and narcissistic. Be sensitive to how long you talk during your turn, and always give your date a chance to speak. Also be aware of how you respond to your date. He or she may have experiences you can relate to, but don’t just butt in and talk about yourself. Instead, ask more details about the story.

Chicago’s modern-day heroes are back to save more lives in the latest season of the medical drama Chicago Med, which returns on Sony Channel this April.

In the season premiere, things turn complicated for the doctors and nurses of Chicago’s state-of-the-art trauma center as Dr. Charles (Oliver Platt) prepares to testify against his shooter after he was shot outside of the hospital. Dr. Rhodes (Colin Donnell) worries about Robin’s behavior at home after her release from a rehabilitation facility. Dr. Manning (Torrey DeVitto) and Dr. Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) confront their feelings for each other once and for all.

Two beloved worlds collide in the upcoming episode of Supernatural when Sam (Jared Padalecki), Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Castiel (Misha Collins) are transported into the animated world of Scooby-Doo where they join forces with the Scooby gang to solve a ghostly mystery.

The cast of Supernatural shared their excitement about the soon-to-be iconic episode during the recent Comic-Con.

“Everyone’s super excited about the Scooby-Doo episode,” said Jensen Ackles. “I don’t want to give away too much but there is a little live action at the beginning of the episode and that gets us into Scooby-land. I am pretty stoked about it. When we finished voicing the animation, we were like ‘Let’s do another one. That was awesome!’ We’d never been so eager to work before in our lives.”

“Doing the voiceover for Scooby-Doo was awesome. It was a real ‘pinch me’ moment. Frankly, it was one of the moments when I felt – Man, I love this show. It’s so cool that we get to crazy stuff. Embedded within a Supernatural episode, we will have an entire Scooby-Doo episode where our characters are animated. We’re thrust into the Scooby-Doo universe. It’s fantastic.” Misha Collins said.

In the time of widespread “fake news,” it’s easy to think of lying as bad and damaging. After all, parents and schools teach children honesty as part of moral upbringing. Acts of fraud, misdirection, and manipulationby politicians and corporations are also called outon the news under the banner of justice. One example is financier Bernard Madoff who ran a Ponzi scheme for years in the United States that stole almost $65 billion from thousands of investors.

History nevertheless offers examples of deception used for reasons beyond evil. One is the fictitious illness “Syndrome K,” invented by the Fatebenefratelli Hospital in Rome to shelter Jews during Nazi persecution.

Of course there are less serious examples of harmlessdeceit. Just think of stand-up comedians coming up with a bogus story for the sake of humor. Screenwriter David Misch recalls a talk where a critic quotes Louis C.K. to make a point on the authenticity of comedy: “I went to a bar the other night. Where isn’t important, because I’m lying.”

If deception isn’t necessarily malicious, what is it?

The Ubiquity of Lying

Dr. Timothy R. Levine, Professor and Chair of Communication Studies at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, says in a National Geographicarticle by authorYudhijitBhattacharjee, “We all lie, but not all lies are the same. People lie and tell the truth to achieve a goal: ‘We lie if honesty won’t work’.”

Like the three instances above, people lie with different intentions. Bhattacharjee’s article summarizes these based on findings by researchers: self-promotionto take advantage, improve image, or make others laugh; self-protection to cover up a mistake or escape responsibility; impact to help others, uphold social rules, or cause harm;and no apparent reason, as in the case of pathological liars and people with unknown motives, even to oneself.

More surprising is the frequency of lying. According to a survey conducted in the United Kingdom by Richard Wiseman, Professor of the Public Understanding of Psychology at the University of Hertfordshire, most adults tell two important lies every day and that one-third of their conversations have some form of dishonesty. People also fail to detect four in five of these lies. The results further showthat more than 80 percent have lied to gain employment, while over 60 percent have cheated on their partner at least once. Only eight percent claim never to have lied.

Ingrained in Humanity

Whether it’s a harmless fib or a full-blown fraud, deceptiontakes a certain level of complex thinking. Naomi Stewartin an essay for online magazine I, Sciencesuggests that lying comes naturally to organisms with higher brain functions, such as human beings, since it takes advanced neural processing to weave a false story and remember its details.

Psychologist Kang Lee from the University of Toronto observes this kind of cognitive complexity in children. In an experiment that asks children not to peek at a hidden toy while the experimenter is away, 30 percent of the two-year-old participants have lied, while the number increases to 50 percent among the three-year-olds and 80 percent among the eight-year-olds. Even how the kids have given themselves away shows the increasing sophistication of lying as age goes up. For instance, participants aged three and four simply say what the hidden toy is, while those who are six make an effort toinvent an elaborate reason toexplain why they know the answer.

The study gives insight to how lying is linked to cognitive development. This link has also led some researchers to believe that dishonestyis a product of evolution with the emergence of more sophisticated thinking and language.Unlike primitive primatesthat rely on strength to survive, human beings are empowered by bigger brains and language to seek other ways to get what they need, such as through trickery.

“Lying is so easy compared to other ways of gaining power,” says Sissela Bok, an ethicist at the Harvard University. “It’s much easier to lie in order to get somebody’s money or wealth than to hit them over the head or rob a bank.”

Catching a Liar

Still, some forms of deception are worth calling out, as in the case of Bernard Madoff. However, not many of us are adept at distinguishing lies from the truth, which may be the reason why fake news has gotten a strong foothold on social media.

A basic understanding of lying can help expose deceivers. In the television legal drama Bull, for instance, psychologist and trial science expert Dr. Jason Bullreveals the telltale signs of dishonesty, such as by how liars move their eyes or fiddle with their fingers when trying to cover up a secret. This way, his clients can become better prepared before they face jury trial.

Summer in Manila can be hot, but this year in particular, temperatures will rise above the normal when the most gorgeous Kapuso hunks get together and perform in a special show at the Music Museum in Greenhills on May 18.

Rocco Nacino, Derrick Monasterio, Jak Roberto and Dave Bornea will strut their stuff on stage for one night only in a show billed as Oh, BOY! & Oh, LOL! It will be a night of pure fun, wonderful music, surprise performances and never before seen acts that will surely set the stage on fire.

These GMA 7 hot boys are starting to rehearse by this time, getting their voices ready and polishing their moves to make sure that the audience get more than what they will pay for. Not only are they carefully choosing their respective spot numbers but they are also making sure that they are at their most fit because some numbers are meant to tickle the crowd.

“We have to work out longer hours so we can look our best come concert night,” shares Derrick, adding, “We promise to tickle your senses!”

For his part, Jak believes that the show will be unforgettable because the producers and the creative team are making sure that the entertainment value is very high. “The show is a collaborative effort between every one of us, and I am just happy to have been asked to be part of this really fun show.”

The most senior of the group, Rocco knows that teamwork is necessary to make the show successful. “ We are preparing not just for our individual acts but also the production numbers that we have carefully chosen for the audience. The Cure’s premise is set on an experimental drug that kills cancer cells. Soon, law and order is non-existent as the disease spreads not only in the city, but also throughout the entire country. The series is under the helm of esteemed director Mark A. Reyes who is excited for the viewers to witness a new genre in primetime. “It’s very exciting, a story of survival—survival of humans, survival of family, survival of two people in love, it’s a bigger picture. They both live a peaceful life, until Greg’s mother is diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

WHO IS BRYAN CHONG?

Singer-song writer Bryan Chong was born on August 12, 1999 in Quezon City. At an early age of five (5) he began to show the ability of singing. The first song that he learned by that time was “Nano” from the Japanese candy commercial. Bryan grew up with his foreign step father Jake Long and his filipina mother MerilynForneste who was a former singer in South Korea.

Lucena City is a very memorable place for Bryan where his career starts at age of 14. His first Mall Show was in Pacific Mall with Enrique Gil. Sarah Geronimo first turned her chair for Bryan followed by Sharon Cuneta who threw so much emotions. He got a standing ovation from the two coaches and left with a very remarkable comments, “Anggalinggalingmograbeka!”, “Grabenamanyan, seventeen years old ganonkagaling!” from Coach Sarah, and “You did it, you nailed it. I’ll keep an eye on you!” from Coach Bamboo. Coach Sharon invited Mr. Rey Valera on stage hoping to get Bryan for her team. Before leaving the stage, Coach Sarah beg for Bryan to choose her as a coach with a comment “Alammo Bryan kailangannakailangankitasa team ko. Sana hayaanmoakonamakatrabahoka. It would be an honor namakatrabahoangkasinggaling mo.”

Rendering a supremely clean falsetto voice he was then dubbed as the Falsetto Prince and the Dark Horse of Team Sarah.
